Silent Hill: Townfall Developer Is Already Working on The Weight Balancing Update
Silent Hill: Townfall developer Screen Burn Interactive says gameplay balancing for The Weight is on the way after players reported frustrating stealth encounters.

Screen Burn says it has “heard” player complaints surrounding The Weight, with gameplay balancing now on the way.
Silent Hill: Townfall developer Screen Burn Interactive has confirmed that changes are coming to The Weight following complaints from players about the game's stealth encounters.
Just six days after Townfall's September 24 launch, Screen Burn acknowledged the feedback in a post announcing the game's latest PC update.
“We've heard you on struggles with The Weight – gameplay balancing on its way ASAP,” the developer said.
Exactly what will change hasn't been revealed yet, so it's currently unclear whether Screen Burn plans to adjust The Weight's detection, AI behaviour, movement, patrol patterns, or another part of the encounters.
The Weight appears during two major sections in Silent Hill: Townfall and generally can't be killed during these encounters. Players instead have to evade the creature while progressing through the area.
Getting caught by The Weight results in an instant death, while players have criticised how difficult it can be to understand what has attracted its attention and how long it can remain near the player's hiding position.
Screen Burn hasn't announced a release date for The Weight balancing update, only saying that it is coming “ASAP.”
The announcement arrived alongside Patch 1.3.1 for the PC versions of Silent Hill: Townfall on Steam and the Epic Games Store. That update is separate from the upcoming changes to The Weight and focuses on performance, reducing gameplay stuttering caused by shader precompilation issues.
According to Konami's official patch notes, players who have installed the update should see game version v1.4.153829 displayed on the main menu.
Screen Burn says more performance improvements are also coming soon.
Silent Hill: Townfall launched on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Developed by Scottish studio Screen Burn Interactive and co-published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive, it is the first full-length Silent Hill game to be presented entirely from a first-person perspective.
